The past week was not what I expected. At all. I left Friday for High Point Market, excited for the crazy week. Met up with our clients on Friday afternoon, previewed a few showrooms and went back to our awesome suite to chill. Woke up the next morning with an AWFUL stomach bug. I mean the whole nine yards. I'll spare you the details but it was terrible. The worst timing ever! So I placed my "in case of emergency" phone call to Heather, my cousin who lives nearby. She dropped everything and came to get me and my poor self. Thank you Heather I love you! She saved my life.
It took a few days to get over the bug and I missed the rest of market, major bummer. My sweet husband came up to Charlotte to pick me up and took me home and nursed me back to health. He was wonderful!
I feel 100% better now, fully recovered and back in business. We had a quiet week here and a wonderfully lazy weekend, our first weekend home since we moved in! Life has been crazy! We finally got the rest of the boxes unpacked, and now that the dining room is cleaned out, I can finally think about what we are doing in our LR, DR area. I thought I would share my inspiration board for the LR.
Our new place is much more relaxed, and living right on the river has definitely influenced my design sense. I'm more drawn to relaxed, easy styles that go with our kayaks and coolers on the porch and huge sliding glass door which is open 23 out of the 24 hours of the day.
We are finally getting around to painting our coffee tables that wonderful mustard yellow and I just ordered the most BEAUTIFUL persimmon colored silk drapes. Can't wait till they come in!
Also, this past week was mine and Luke's 1st anniversary. Yay for us! I love my husband and love being on this journey with him. He is my biggest fan and helps me on ALL of my crazy projects. Normally it goes like this. "honey, I really want to paint perfectly straight stripes on the wall or I really want you to make a table for here or Can you figure out how to cut a perfect circle for a table top? And he figures it out. That's an engineer for you. Thank heavens one of us is practical. I love you Luke!
