Sneak Peak...

So our upholstered headboard for our guest room is done, but since the rest of the room is still in progress, I am just going to give you a peek...

My inspiration for the fabric came from Little Green Notebook, its no secret I adore anything that Jenny does, and her girls room is no different. She is so talented!

via LittleGreenNotebook. The fabric I found is from a mill that is only open one weekend a month and has a lot of fabric from all over on amazing sales. I always make the trip to the upstate to go, its so much fun!

I also am loving this bed from Pink Wallpaper

So we will see where the room goes from here, I'll keep you updated!

I am tackling Project A. Upholstered headboard. Wish me luck.

ahhh... wedding stresses

So the hubby and I are relaxing watching Rich Bride, Poor Bride on WE, and its hilarious. I am so glad that we are past all the stress of planning a wedding, who is coming, how is the space going to work, is the food going to be good, and is the weather going to be nice, are the flowers going to get there, is everyone going to be on time and dressed, is my dress going to be steamed and ready, how is hair and makeup going to go, is everyone going to have fun?? Ahhhhhh! I guess some people handle the stress better than I did, but I was soo grateful to be on the way to Jamaica the next day. Anyhow, I think if I was going to get married again, I would wear something like this....So simple, romantic, and a little boho. love it.

This weeks projects....

So the hubby and I are back from a relaxing weekend visiting family, it was rainy outside and we stayed in bed until after noon watching movies. Anyhow, I am looking at a busy week at work and I have a lot of projects at home I want to work on, one being our dining room. After being here for about 2 months, I am just starting to feel settled in our new town and apartment. My talented husband likes to make furniture, so he made me as a wedding present a dining room table out of wood salvaged from an old barn. Its amazing, but we need to paint the legs and we are working on the chairs I recently bought at an antique store as well. The only thing we have really done is paint stripes and install a lighting fixture.

Don't mind the puzzle on the table, my man thinks its a stress reliever and I just think I don't like puzzles.

So the chairs from the before picture.... see here are going to get a coat of paint in probably a dark chalky grey and recovered in this

Sorry for the poor image quality, its a really pretty yellow, not to bright, not too dull. And my computer is not letting me flip the image, it needs to be flipped horizontally.

I'm also looking for some artwork to hang above the table, what I have now is just something I had and doesn't work at all and is way too small. Anyhow, I have fallen in love with a new website and spend lots of time looking at the creativity displayed at Little Paper Planes. I am thinking that the Nest Print might be perfect. Its simple yet sweet and since we just got married, I think that a nest is perfect for newlyweds to eat under.

lots going on....

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, with the new job they just threw me right in and its been so crazy! I'm loving it, but super super busy! Anyhow, I think this chandelier's awesomeness speaks for itself, i am really wanting it. Its so different, and I think its a great conversation piece. And its on SALE at Pottery Barn!

a before.

So the hubby and I have a new project. I convinced him to buy 4 dining room chairs I found at an antique store that severely need a lot of tlc. So we are tackling the project this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes!

Also you can't see in these pictures how wobbly they are, if anyone tried to sit in them, I am afraid they would break in half.

How unattractive is this fabric? Definitely seen better days.

I am really wanting these pumps from Anthropologie, I think they look so comfortable and would be so cute with black tights and a fun dress

A little late...

So I know its the middle of January and we only have a tiny little porch but the christmas decorations remain. Every time I think of taking them down its raining or really cold. Sounds like a project for the hubby.

a creative day

I believe that every day should contain a little creativity and fun, a bright spot to keep with us as we go about our days. A fabulous painting, a fun article, or an inspirational room that makes us think, “I can do that!”

A Creative Day is where I am going to post beautiful things I find around the web as well as interior design ideas and inspiration. I am Eileen, a recent architecture graduate and a new wife, stepping out (tomorrow is my first day at my new job, eek!) into my true passion, interior design.

I leave you with this amazing chair via pointclickhome. Its made out of entirely out of felt and metal, fabulous.
