long time coming

Hello everyone! I am so sorry about the severe lack of posts lately, I have just been not feeling it! With all this beautiful weather I have been outside and falling down on my blogging duties! Well here I am, ready to get back into it.
I want to update you on my bedroom makeover (still in progress). With my rooms, I tend to work over time. I watch and wait and see what a room needs to be. I believe that over time, YOUR room will evolve as you live in it and it shapes to your needs and wants.

We started with this, typical post college, totally blank slate.

And this is now- still in progress but definitely progressing.

I have been struggling in this room. With a bed like this, I was really trying to decide if we needed a headboard. But I like the way the dark graphite velvet pillows anchor the bed, almost like a headboard and the mirror adds some visual interest and draws your eye up.

The walls are painted one of my favorite colors, Ralph Lauren Lamp Room Grey. I looked for a month for a gray that was warm with yellow undertones instead of harsh with blue undertones. We love it- its soothing and warm at the same time.

The drapes are my favorite simple mosquito type netting drapes, they are floaty and dreamy and add softness.

I struggle with finishing a room, I prefer a very simple streamlined room with minimal accessories and sometimes that means my rooms look unfinished. So tell me, does it look unfinished? what do i need to add?

Whats floating around the office right now....

So one of the best things about working for an interior designer is being surrounded all day by beautiful things. Everything that comes to the office is so exciting, and we all gather around to oooh and ahh over the new catalogs, fabric, and wallpaper books. I thought I would show you some swoon worthy things floating around the office right now...

Schumacher never disappoints, their walllcoverings and fabrics are always amazing. Right now we are are loving the pattern Imperial Trellis.

How fabulous would this wallpaper be in a bathroom or for a really statement dining room?

And my favorite is this colorway...

Another catalog we got is Park Hill, an AMAZING collection of furniture and accent pieces. I want EVERYTHING. Unfortantly, as of right now, Park Hill is available only to designers, which they should change because it deserves to be shown everywhere! I was only able to find photos of their products at Good Bones Great Pieces. Side note- I love Suzanne and Lauren, and am so inspired by their work. So thanks to them for the photos!

(I'm getting the wreath)

If you are not a designer, there are options to finding designer pieces- one of them being One Kings Lane. Its like Hautelook for decor. High end brands sell off their pieces at CRAZY low prices, so sign up and get inspired!

Currey & Co. is a brand used alot at the office for one of a kind lighting and accents pieces. I am lusting over this..

I want it for my house! and props to Jen for spotting this beautiful chandelier! Love it!

Pretty Pictures...

The hubs and I had a wonderful weekend, we hung around for friday night and watched the Lord of the Rings (it was his first time seeing them! Hard to believe, I know!) Saturday morning, we went road tripping up to see the parentals- it was so nice just to hang out, watch movies and decorate my mom's newly redone room. While we were up there, my mom had a surprise for us, we got more pictures from our wedding taken by our dear friend, Dianna Seay. She is incredibly talented and took some of our favorite pictures from the wedding! and I wanted to share her gift...
And these flowers were done by our AMAZING florists, who also happen to be some dear family friends...

My little surprise!

The hubs and my dad went out together and came home with this, "as a surprise." To be fair, we have been needing a new tv for our bedroom, and I like how this one has a built in DVD player so there is not a big box hanging out on our bookcase.

Here is our little corner now in our bedroom. Our old tv was a dinosaur from college and took up the whole corner. now i feel like an adult!
