Welcome Home

When I saw this front door at Riley's, I about fell out of my chair. So beautiful. Don't you like to imagine what it would be like to go home to this every day? Hello, I live in the most beautiful home with the perfect mint green door that opens up into a fabulous open foyer with lots of natural light and natural textures mixed with fun vintage finds and an amazing courtyard. Hmm, i would die.

Moving on up

Well, now I can officially fill you all in on why I've been scarce the past couple of weeks. We are moving! Now don't get too excited, we are just moving 20 minutes down the road. We are moving downtown a lot closer to my work, and I couldn't be more excited. I HATE commuting, and spending 1 1/2 hours a day in the car about kills me. I am so excited to be downtown, and our new place looks right out on the river and the city lights. But we have to be out of our old place and in our new one in 3 weeks, so its going to be busy around here for the next little while! But I am already excited to start a new project!

Our new place has a little bit smaller dining room, so our dining room table and chairs are not going to fit and that makes me sad! So I am selling our dining chairs, and I thought I would give you all first dibs before I post them on craigs list. If you remember, I redid these chairs from top to bottom and I love them! And they were mentioned on Better After, see post here. Let me know if you are interested! I have four.

p.s. Do you like the look??? I thought it was time for a refresh!

I know I am being a bad blogger- but just give me a few more days! Just like Riley, I have been taking a "mental staycation" for the past week (isn't it funny how you and your best friend always seem to be going through the the same thing at the same time? I swear we are the same person.).
I'll be back soon, but just like how time away from your kids makes you a better mommy, so this little break will make me a better blogger. I love you all and I have some fun stuff lined up for the end of the week!

Living Room Version 2.1

So I've been struggling with my living room, as many of you know. I've vented about it to you all more than once! Every time I walked in my apt, something bothered me but I couldn't put my finger on it for the longest time. I finally had an ah ha moment when I realized that I needed more depth in the corner next to my window to balance out the room. I also needed a coffee table! So welcome to house tour 2.1- redone and remixed. This is what I started with.

On the coffee table hunt- I saw these on High Heeled Foot in the Door. Loved the white lacquer and thought two would make a fun alternative to a coffee table but had no idea where they were. Then a reader of High Heeled found some at TJMaxx- so off I went.

And voila- they were there! I snagged two (one in the turquoise color below, and a black one) planning to spray paint them.

So we were on the way.

Then my hubby took me to Ikea- yay! I stumbled upon a grey linen chaise lounge and realized it was perfect for my room. I also scooped up a black and white throw, some peacock blue curtains, and a $20 chair. So drum roll... here it is now!

Its so much cozier with that chaise- that Luke has claimed. I have only sat in it once since we got it! I had orginally thought to paint the coffee tables black lacquer but at the advice of my boss- now they are going to be white lacquer! So pumped.

I am thinking about doing a black and white greek key band on the curtains. Thoughts? You like? I'll post pictures after I paint the bamboo tables, I promise.
