Oooh and Ahh to your hearts content...

The Summer 2011 Kate Spade lookbook blew me away. Kate is normally a little too preppy for me to pull off but I would take one of everything from this collection. Beautiful. Enjoy lusting...

Before and After Magic...

Like I promised, I'm here today with a before and after from my parents house. Let me preface this by saying that I love my parents house. It was the best house to grow up in. Plenty of room to run around in and a huge pool in the backyard that I practically lived in. Well, my parents have been living there for a long while now, I won't say how long mom! and it needed a redo. The outside was a really pretty light gray that I loved with the black shutters and roof but we decided to give it some depth. So we painted it orange. J/K! But did I make your heart drop and completely freak you out? Thats what I thought. Sorry for that. Anywho, here is the before,

And here it is now. Do you love? Just warming up the gray and adding a pop in the door really changes the feel of the house. It looks so much richer and the white of the trim really pops.

Do you like how Bonnie in is almost every picture?
My mom loves her red door and I think we are going to give the planters a little love and paint those red as well. If anyone is interested, the paint colors I used were SW Dovetail on the house (its the perfect gray) and SW Classy Red on the front door. We all love it and I never ever want my parents to move.

Recap: This past week

Hey dear readers, sorry for the absence this past week. I was really busy with family stuff. For those of you who don't know, my brother is in the military and he is getting stationed abroad for 2 years. My brother and I have always been really close, we were more like twins growing up than anything else, never apart! So he left on Monday. On the one hand, I am so excited for him because he has an amazing job and he LOVES it more than anything. He gets to travel and see the world and he excels at what he does. On the other hand, seeing him walk on that plane was hard. 2 years is a long time! (Bradley, if you are reading this, I'm sorry. He hates when I'm "mushy".) I have so much respect for our military and their families, I never really understood what it would be like until my brother joined.
We had an amazing weekend on Bradley's "farewell tour" as we like to call it. We went to dinner and hung out, went shopping (got hair advice, courtesy of my hair stylist and fabulous little sister, Anna Grace) and ate. All together a success.
Me and Bradley. So proud of you!
Luke and Bradley will both not be happy about this picture.
Dinner at this amazing English pub- so good!
Granddaddy made his world famous oreo milkshakes. Ok maybe not world famous but totally famous within our family. Seriously, they rock.
My sweet baby. Bonnie. When I studied abroad in Italy for 4 months, it was harder to say goodbye to my dog then my family. Is that bad? but I justify myself by saying that you can talk to your mom on the phone, but your dog? She is just at home wondering where you went.
I just had to add this picture. This is the boys at the beach before the now infamous "polar bear jump" into the ocean. 11'oclock at night, 28 degrees. oh yeah. they did.
I had to end with another picture of Bonnie. Cause she's wonderful. So send some loving feelings my families way this week, and I'll be back tomorrow with project from my parents house- pretty big!

Behind the Magic, The Sartorialist

I know that everyone is just as obsessed with the Sartorialist's beautiful work as I am. I peruse his blog everyday and get inspiration, but mostly just think, I could never look that put together!
He was recently featured in a documentary called "Visual Life" by Intel. He said something in that film that really made me think. He said how important it is to have at least a little bit of your day should be creative, be visual. Even if its just 20 minutes doing yoga or photography or something you love, inspire yourself every day. Watch it and get creative people!
These are some of my favorites from his recent files. Its hard to pick a favorite! (But the last one might be my fav- so relaxed but classic.)

Love some Zebra!

So I was over at the adorable blog of Caitlin Creer, and spotted this adorable zebra chair. Sigh.... And then I spotted the $. $40! No its not a joke. Caitlin found it at Sears. Its really $40 people. Order 2, or 3, or 4. What an amazing deal! I am thinking about ordering a few for myself.... you think Luke would be surprised if 2 chairs showed up at our house??

Well Hello Again...

Hello dear readers, I'm back! Although I was really back Monday morning, but I have refused to believe that the holidays are really over and I have to work again now. Oh well. Christmas was WONDERFUL, full of family and good food. We picked up my brother, who is an official Loadmaster and Airman now! from the airport the day before Christmas Eve (and yes, I was crying!). Then we spent Christmas Eve with Luke's family at his grandparents house, which was wonderful, and did I mention that everyone in Luke's family (excluding moi) have AMAZING voices, and they sang parts of the Hallelujah chorus together- it was beautiful. Christmas morning was spent with my fam and then we headed to the beach. ahhhh, relaxation. I promise I will share pics when I steal them from my mom's camera (I forgot mine), but today I just wanted to drop in and say hello and show you something that appeared in my stocking-

both available here. I have devoured them from cover to cover and they are perfection. Bold, but perfection. Jonathan manages again and again to pull off color combos that are definetly not for the fainthearted. Think retro blue foil hexagon wallpaper mixed with blue hexagon carpet!!! Ahhh, Mr. Adler, I love you.

xoxo,  Eileen

P.S- Ummm, you like the new makeover???  I have been working on it all day today while the hubs recovers from getting his wisdom teeth out, poor thing. Send some good wishes our way!
