have been since I married my best friend. Happy Anniversary to my favorite person who makes me laugh every day, comforts me when I worry, lets me turn the heat on when I'm cold (which is all the time) even when he's hot, works so hard to provide for us, wakes me up with coffee and HGTV on Saturdays, watches the Real Housewives with me (which I think he secretly likes), and is the most handsome man I know. LOVE YOU.
I got busy yesterday and whipped out this no sew roman shade for my front door. I spotted the trim at a fabric store on a work trip, and then found this white linen remnant in the clearance bin, so I knew it was perfect! I didn't really follow any instructions to make it, just finished the ends with hem tape and eye-balled the folding. Its held together with a lot of hem tape and prayer!
I'm obsessed. Totally and completely obsessed and I'm so excited to have my first piece of original art. I know they say that purchasing art is a very personal experience and I totally agree. You know when you see it. I couldn't get it out of my mind and that was that. I purchased it from wostudios on etsy, and I highly recommend Destiny. The painting came super fast and looks just as incredible in person. You want to know the best part? Its 6' X 3'! Thats right, its longer than I am tall!!! INSANE! I'm getting it stretched next week and CAN'T WAIT to hang it in my dining room! I'm so excited about this painting I couldn't sleep last night, is that pathetic???
This is where I was the past few days, ahhh amazing. The leaves were perfect and it was good times with good friends. One day we made breakfast at 9 and didn't get up from the table until 12! Thats what happens when you see your good friends you haven't seen in forever, you talk and talk and talk! I'm home now and trying to get back into the groove of things, lots and lots of cleaning and unpacking today and going to the state fair tomorrow! Bring on the krispy kreme burger, (j/k, but Luke does want to try it! We will see, I'll be sure to report back if he keels over from the fat and disgustingness of a cheeseburger with donuts instead of a bun!) What plans do ya'll have? Anyone going to the mountains or maybe I'll see you at the fair??
One of the best things about having a blog is the support the blogging community gives one another, and today I'm asking for your help! What would you wear this jacket with? I got it from JCREW and I love it, but I need some advice about what you would wear it with. I hadn't worn it at all and Chassity was so super sweet and encouraged me to wear it all winter, so I intend to do that! Do you guys have any outfit inspiration for me? Would love to see any polyvore boards or just ideas!
Remember my chalkboard dining table? Blogged about here? Well its up for grabs on the Cola craigslist! We can't fit it in our new house and it makes me super sad to see it go, but I would feel better if I knew it had a good home so somebody scoop it up! Check out the ad here
(and yes I know I spelled laundry wrong, don't hate. just pretend there is a 'r' in there.)
We are also selling our bamboo coffee tables that I painted black. I LOVE these coffee tables but don't have room b/c we did a fun new project over the weekend that might have included an grey and white ikat upholstered ottoman! so we have to move on from our old ones. Check out the ad here.
TGIF TGIF TGIF! I couldn't be more excited for the weekend, we have lots of fun stuff planned right now, including painting our new living room, hanging drapes and moving furniture. Super sad we can't make it up for homecoming at our Alma Mater, GO TIGERS! What do ya'll have planned?
hey lovelies! Thanks so much for all the support as I was moving this past weekend, we got it done! I HATE MOVING. I'm not organized normally so it stresses me out trying to organize everything I own, and it invariably ends up with me running around realizing that I have my socks but no shoes, the shampoo and toilet paper are at the old house and I can't find my shirts. I got so stressed on Thursday night that when Luke got home I was buried in the bed with my head under the covers hoping it would all go away. Thank heavens for sweet husbands, Luke got me out of bed and took me to dinner and watched some "Friends" with me and I was all better to tackle the mess.
We LOVE our new house, it has creaky hardwood floors, high ceilings, lots of windows and a fireplace. We are getting all settled in and I am painting this weekend and can't wait to show you what I have planned for my living room, its going to be so fun! my Mom got me some beautiful mums for our front porch, I feel so
grown up.We are so happy to be done with apartment living! I have a
front porch, with a hammock and mums. Its official, I'm an adult. It
The house def needs a little work, I cleaned for about 8 hours on Saturday and the dining room chandelier that was here looks like something out of Star Wars. Even though we are just renting, I def think that has to change.
And Luke looked at me and asked if I could change the fabric that was left over the door, haha. So I'm thinking of doing a burlap no sew roman, have ya'll tried that?
But besides those few little things, we are loving our new place and settling right in, I'll keep you posted on living room progress this weekend!
