Happy New Year lovelies! I'm back from the beach as promised, even though I never wanted to leave. Isn't vaca never long enough? Can I get an amen?
We started out the year on a hard note- my brother leaving to be deployed overseas for two years. It was so hard to see him leave but since then he has come home for Thanksgiving, and we had the best time together! We painted my parents house... Its always stressful to pick paint colors for exterior jobs, but I think it looks beautiful!
I scored this awesome Campaign dresser on craigslist for $45, and had fun redoing it. Painted my chevron drapes and Kristen was so sweet to feature them on her blog (don't you just love her?)
Summer was spent working on my tan with multiple trips to the beach, kayaking a LOT, and the hubby took an awesome trip to Europe with one of his best friends.
(painting I bought, its 6 foot x 3 foot!)
This fall was super eventful for us, we moved into a house with creaky wood floors and loads of character, I bought my first piece of original art, had one of my favorite guest bloggers,
celebrated our second anniversary, redid a $2 chair, guest posted for Julia,
and got a nikon!
So overall, I would say 2011 was a success. Isn't it good to look back and remind yourself of all you've done? What happened exciting to you this year? Tomorrow I'm sharing my resolutions for 2012, and I want to hear yours too!
I know a lot of people are pessimists about resolutions and all that
comes with new years, but I choose to believe it can be an opportunity
to have a fresh start. Its a good time to reevaluate my goals and get
back on track. I do have some exciting (to me!) resolutions that I
thought I would share with ya'll (partly so I get excited about my
plans, but mostly b/c I want ya'll to hold me to my resolutions!) Before
I get to those, this past year was a great year for me and the little
bloggy blog, and I wanted to remember what all happened great this
year... so here's a recap of 2011
