books on mantle

I always change things up around the house, and right now I'm loving lots and lots of books and magazines stacked up on my mantle... right under my Jamie from Furbish inspired chopstick paintings.  All the stacks remind me of fall and curling up next to the fire.

I'm thinking of wrapping them all in colored paper to get this look...

Or stacking lots more

What do you think? Would you do stacks of books on your mantle?

I have a tall bookcase full of books covered in a metallic teal color (think tiffany blue with a sparkly sheen). I love that look! Go for it!

I just love books! I have been putting more books in my room to make it look more "lived in" and I love it!

I like the small little stacks like you've shown first with your books - I think that's the perfect dosage. I would get way too overwhelmed with big stacks. Even though sometimes I feel like my magazines are stacked high and I have a lot of catching up to do.

Great look! If I didn't already have bookshelves in our living room I would totally go for that. I love the idea of all one color too!

Yep. sure I would stake books on mantle but it should be more organised. Your idea of wrapping the books colored paper looks better. ~ Herman Swan
