DIY leopard print gold leaf tray

This is what happens when you walk around the house with your beloved gold leaf pen looking for something else to gold leaf, and its actually one of my favorite DIY's to date.

Jenny's post about Caitlin's DIY sharpie les touches chairs reminded me how much I love this fabric and I just looked at a picture and got to work. In total it took about 10 minutes and cost $3, the price of a clearance TJmaxx tray. It looked pretty for about 5 minutes before it got filled with keys, papers, earrings and notes.

I just love my Krylon pen, probably the best DIY tool a girl can have. LOVE this tray...it's making me think about spicing up a tiny lucite tray that I own!

Could you have baked the dish so the gold didn't scratch? I've seen that on Pinterest(imagine that) with permanent markers.

What a great idea! I am thinking of seriously rummaging around the house to see if I find a white plate or something which I can use to ry out this idea.

I must buy gold leaf pens and sharpies. Every time I see them in action, my heart and soul smile! Such a great DIY - easy and chic!
