Every week I really look forward to
linking up with
Friday's Fancies, and this week is especially fun because its
blog swap week! a.v was so sweet to set up a fun swap for everyone.
She definitely paired us up well, because I LOVE my partner, we've had so much fun working together!
So I'm really excited to
introduce to you a super sweetheart who is fast becoming one of my
blogging bffs,
Hello A Creative Day readers! I'm Carly from the life and style blog
a simple affair. Let me just say, I couldn't be more thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work with the extremely talented Eileen. I need to meet her ASAP. She is fabulous. I could go on and on, but instead I'll get to the good stuff. We chose to create both an outfit and a foyer using two of the same items:
Yes, our theme would be gold today, friends. Here is my dream outfit featuring my dream wedges.

Black + gold is one of my favorite pairings. While it may not be part of the neon and pastel trends right now, I think it's timeless. Red would have to be my favorite addition to this color pairing, not to mention that it's my favorite primary color.
As for accessories, I stuck with black and gold. Major statement necklace here (possibly a DIY project later down the road??). And, I thought the wrap bracelet was a piece of interest and added some shine to the wrist.
Now just because I said I love black + gold, doesn't mean I can't give a pastel clutch some love. Because, yes, I really do love it. This piece also adds some more texture to the outfit, and it's just fun. Nothing wrong with fun.
........
On to the foyer! I have to admit, this was my first time ever creating a room collage so while slightly nerve wrecking, I had so much fun with it!

First and foremost, how amazing is this lighting pendant that Eileen found? I know, pretty amazing. And if you read my blog, you know I love chevron. So that was an easy pick.
I'm currently in the process of still figuring out my style when it comes to my apartment. Lately I'm loving rooms with a mix of patterns, textures, and color.
Jen Ramos' art is something I absolutely adore, and I knew right off the bat I needed to incorporate a piece into this foyer. I loved this clean and crisp table that can be styled so many ways. You could easily add books to it and stack one of the vases on top to create more varying levels. I saved my favorite piece for last: I love the red pouf because it brings out even more of the red in the painting.
So happy I got the chance to hop on over to A Creative Day today! No other place I would rather share some Friday's Fancies love with!
Isn't she such a sweetheart? Thanks so much for stopping by Carly! And make sure you head over to
a simple affair to see my designs.... which may or may not include some AMAZING black and white wallpaper and cobalt blue lamps... :-)
