a.v always comes up with fun themes for the ladies of Friday's Fancies and this week was what to wear in all those Spring Showers... aka cute rainwear! I had fun pulling an outfit that would be cozy and cute in the rain and still be practical for avoiding all those puddles... The Trina Turk necklace and rainboots have to my favorites, and they are from Target! Thinking of ordering those, what do you think?
Hope everyone has a fun weekend planned hanging out with those you love! Luke and I are planning on watching movies, eating long brunches and shopping in some precious little shops in our favorite town in Nova Scotia... I'm excited to sleep in and drink some mimosas :-)

Eames

Eames has been a major buzz word in the blogsphere for a while now... his chairs are everywhere! I first jumped on that bandwagon about 6 years ago, when I first met Charles and Ray Eames in college. But not as furniture designers, as Architects. Did you know that the dynamic duo was known not just for their furniture; but also their architecture, films, graphic and product design? 

Last year, a movie came out about their importance of their influence on the modern American Life...and its a beautiful picture of the lives of some of the most important designers of our time...  have you seen it?

Weekend

My weekend was spent at the beach, driving around singing coldplay at the top  my lungs, stuffing my face with organic raspberry cheesecake and brie and chicken pizza, and relaxing with my hubs. Nova Scotia is stunningly gorgeous and we are loving every minute, but I'm definitely not used to going to the beach and the water being barely above freezing! Sidenote: Luke decided since one day was about 60 degrees, that was a perfect time to do the polar bar plunge and jump right on in... I did not condone this decision... crazy boys! I will stay safe and sound and dry in my snow boots and Patagonia right over here thank you!
What did ya'll do over the weekend? Pls enjoy the warm weather for me... its 30 today and snowing!

Summer

Summer uniform
Growing up I lived in my bathing suit and now not much has changed. I'm still happiest when I can bum around in something comfy. I rounded up my favorite summer uniform, and all the pieces are under $60!
I'm hopping on a jet plane to head up to Canada, so ya'll soak up the warm weather for me :-) And as always.. linking up with Friday's Fancies. Love those ladies!
(Sidenote: This week a.v mentioned dressing up for your basketball team, but I barely know there is a tournament going on....this isn't quite March Madness )

DIY goodness

How yummy is this DIY chest? Amanda is a dear friend that I grew up with, so as soon as I saw her project I begged her to let me blog about it, and aren't you so glad she let me??
She used this paint and was inspired by this tray. Needless to say I'm in love.

Besides being magic with a paintbrush, she also happens to be magic in the kitchen. Her blog is chock full of delicious recipes and every one I've tried has been received very well in my house...She also has the cutest babe you have ever laid eyes on :-)

Recently

 Recently: my Kindle, new bathing suits from Target, cobalt blue jeans, fun coral nailpolish and my favorite watch and earrings...

 lots and lots of stripes, a new anthropologie skirt, and a fun aztec belt from F21. Now you know what I will be wearing for the next 5 months, so I apologize in advance for sporting a mix of these at all times.

News

Thanks everyone for all the sweet comments and thoughts you sent my way over the weekend... I needed them! Its been a crazy couple of weeks for us, with Luke starting his training for his new job at work. We will be back and forth to Canada for the training over the next several months.

 We are definitely planning on traveling as much as we can while we are up there. Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and the Maine coast are all on our list. We were also thinking about heading to NYC and Cape Cod if we can squeeze it in. I would love to hear your thoughts; have you ever been and what do you recommend as a must see?

Happy Weekend! Yes I know its only Thursday but I'm not going to see you lovelies until next week. I have a lot of stuff happening on the home front this weekend and I need some time to get my head back above water. I'll be back on Monday and fill you all in, send some happy thoughts my way this weekend!

Happy Monday! Can you believe its March?

 I had such a great time linking up last time with Chassity's "how would you wear it" challenge and she just posted a new one! How would you mix patterns? I've been working on some ideas to get together and email her, but thought I would try some outfits out on you guys first. Make sure you head over and check her post out here and share how you would mix!

Now I know that this outfit is the easiest way to mix patterns, just adding a leopard scarf to a stripe sweater. But baby steps people... baby steps.

Repeat Outfit

Each week I have so much fun dreaming up an outfit for Friday's Fancies, but it always makes me want to go shopping. Its a problem. I think I would wear this outfit at least once a week, maybe twice. I NEED those Chloe flats, but at $450, I don't think so.

We have a fun weekend planned, I can't wait to sleep in some and love on our sweet friends precious newborn. Hopefully I can tackle some of my long to-do list around the house... but if cuddling with a baby is the alternative, lets just say we are going to have lots of dirty dishes.

Design Darling Boutique

Its always so amazing to see your friends succeed and that's exactly how I feel with the Design Darling Boutique launch. Mackenzie constantly inspires me and I've been a devoted follower of hers since I joined the blogging world. She has been so encouraging of my little blog, and I can't tell you how happy I am for her with her launch. I got up early this morning to hop on the site at 8 AM, and was not disappointed. Design Darling Boutique is so well curated and I LOVE every single thing. (I've rounded up a few of my favorite items below, but trust me, it was hard to choose!)
