Bedroom Reveal and Little Green Notebook

I've been hiding something up my sleeve...

My bedroom is done and pinch me... Jenny from Little Green Notebook featured it on her blog. Check it out here.
Remember when I posted here in April about it being in the works? Well I've been a busy little bee since then.
I have always feel like my master bedroom is the last room to get any love. I always end up just throwing whatever mismatched leftovers I have in it and call it a day.
This is the before... to give you some perspective. Yikes right?
Well this makeover from House Beautiful by Amanda Nesbit changed all that. I loved the headboard, the lamps, everything. I loved how sophisticated and clean the room was while still being cozy. I wanted to jump right in that bed with that fabulous ikat headboard.

I loved the shape of the House Beautiful headboard so we decided to DIY one with a similar but more simple shape. My awesome father in law cut the headboard out of some plywood he had lying around and the hubs and I got out the staple gun.
The fabric was a discount fabric store score and I've never been able to find it again. And yes, we hammered in each nailhead by hand. It took a while.

The gold panels on the wall are Julian Chichester that I scored at market. The side tables were gifted and the linens are ikea and target. I added some $4 a yard pom pom trim to Ikea drapes and I adore them.
I'm so excited to finally be able to share what I've been working on, its been hard keeping it up my sleeve! Be sure to email me if you have any questions about it.
Thanks again to Jenny for featuring my little room, I'm beyond thrilled with how it turned out:-)

How do you blog?

Recently I read this post about blog brainstorming from a beautiful mess and thought it was an interesting approach to blogging.  They sit down and plan out the entire month's posts. Can you imagine being that organized?
Erin at elements of style  blogs about whatever she feels like that morning, I feel like I fall more into this category.
I've been trying to develop a better blogging system since fall coming and life doesn't look like its going to slow down any time soon and I'm interested to know, how do you blog? Do you have a great system for planning ahead, or do you just blog day by day? Let's chat about it.

Evolving

I always find that spaces around my house evolve with my mood and the season.
I loved my vignette below for winter with my gallery wall but this summer I craved more color, so I added my lona de anna print above. This vignette satisfies my craving for color but who knows... I'll probably switch it up again in a month.
What about you... do you swing according to the seasons?

Around Here

me and the bro
The past two weeks in life have been crazy good. I've slept at my house a total of 4 nights in the past 17. My brother came home to visit from being deployed in the Air Force, I hadn't seen him since Thanksgiving so it was just a wonderful time all around which included kayaking in the mountains, lots and lots of pool volleyball and glasses of wine on the hammock, sunburn,  lots of family and friend time and just a generally wonderful life. Throw in a work trip and a babysitting stint and my laundry is now covering my entire house ankle deep.

The past two weeks on the blog have been one of my favorite, with some of the most stylish ladies I know breaking down their style and allowing me to just sit back and enjoy all the inspiration. A huge hug to all you fabulous ladies.
The next week on the blog will be great, including a pretty sweet giveaway coming your way.

Last week I was over at one of my favorite blogs... recently, sharing what I've been wishing for. Check it out!

She's Got Style: barefoot + vintage

oh hai - paige here from barefoot + vintage! i'm so pumped to be a part of eileen's fabulous new feature - she's got style. which i'm assuming means i have some style, right? the truth is - i feel like my style is all over the place! from boho to classic to vintage - there's nothing i won't try. well...there is one thing that scares me. read on to find out!
today, i'd like to talk a little bit about trends. while some are easy to recreate - color blocking, layering, sheer blouses... others, not so much. for example - short shorts {not for everyone}, floral or printed pants, head to toe leather, overalls {lord, help us}, hammer pants, cropped shirts, ripped tights, etc... i think you get the point. i'm not necessarily saying that any trend is a bad trend, i just think that some people are better than others at actually giving the trend a good name. with that being said, i'd like to share my favorite trend - mixed prints! sure, i've mixed a stripe with a floral print, here and there, but my absolute favorite {that i'm too scared to try!} is floral on floral. how do they do that?! lately, i've been obsessed with and gathering inspiration from SUNO NY - check out these delectible pieces + amazing combinations!
right?! so good. one of these days i will get up the nerve to mix floral with floral. what are your thoughts on mixing prints? are you a novice, like myself? if so, check out these tips. and for even more inspiration - mixing prints in style via pinterest. thank you so much for having me eileen! i'm totally flattered to be posting among such lovely and stylish ladies! xo, paige

She's Got Style: Pawley's Island Posh

Hello lovelies!
I'm Julia from Pawleys Island Posh and I'm so happy to be here on Eileen's fabulous blog sharing a little bit about my style!  I like all things feminine and pink with lots of classic glamour and modern edge thrown in.  Animal print is a staple in both my home and my wardrobe.  I love a flirty dress with killer heals but I'm the first to admit that with two babies at home I'm more of a skinny jeans and flats kind of girl!  I think the best room and the best outfit are only the best if it makes you smile!

She's Got Style: Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers

Hi Blogger friends!  I'm Natalie from Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers and I am so excited to be participating in Eileen's fab series this week,  "She's Got Style."  As soon as Eileen asked me I knew exactly what I wanted to share.  This has been my go-to outfit this summer.  When I find an outfit combo I like, I wear it way too much!  As I type this the pink sweater is in the Dry Cleaning pile for like the 3rd time this month:)

I am a lady that loves pink and this J Crew Sweater has been the perfect addition to my closet.  It is lightweight enough to wear in the Summer and I know I will rock it well into the fall with my skinny jeans.  Booties are my newest obsession.  I never thought I would be the type to wear them with shorts but I love it!  I think it makes for a cute casual outfit.

And in case you need help visualizing, this is how I would turn this into a fall outfit.  Pink is for every season, right?
Feelng Pink Fall

Thanks for having me Eileen!
What a fun series!!
xoxo
Natalie
