crown molding

It may seem like a little thing but its huge news around here. Crown molding is up! We have been living for 7 months with the new drywall we installed butting up to the old wimpy crown from before. You can really see in this photo...
When we installed the new drywall over the plaster we left the old 2" crown knowing we would install new 5" over it. Well it sat there for 7 months and FINALLY we got it up yesterday.
We wanted to do the least cuts we could so we drove home with 16' crown pieces hanging out at least 7' out the back of the Tahoe. Fun fun.
And apparently I like dressing like a sherbet cone to go to home depot.
Its been hanging over our head for so long and just to be able to check it off our list for the dining room is amazing. Check check.

  4. hi, i loved your blog !! :)
Would you like to follow each other here and on facebook? please let me know on my blog freezing-the-time.blogspot.com

  5. I put up crown molding all the time and I wanted to see what this style looks like. Someone asked me to do it recently. It actually costs me more to do it this way, because of all the pieces.

I thought I wouldn't like it, but I actually think the corners dress up the molding a bit!

    Nice Work!
