My mom was a twice a week soup maker when we were growing up and I'm turning into my mother. We eat soup all the time during the winter. Its just so easy to make a big pot of soup on Sunday and then take for lunchs all week.
This is our family's favorite soup and being a soup pro you should trust me.The recipe comes from some adorable old ladies at a church in my hometown so you know its good. I make this in my big dutch oven and it makes a LOT so make sure you have a big pot.
3 onions / chopped
1 lb ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
3 cans beef bouillon
2 large cans diced tomatos
1 cup each: potatos, celery, carrots, frozen corn, frozen lima beans
1 1/2 tbsp italian herbs
1 to 2 cups water
lots of salt and pepper and Worcestershire sauce
1. Brown the beef, onions and garlic. Drain
2. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
