Laura from Beauty & the Beard has been one of my blogging bffs for a long time and she is pretty much the coolest. You should be stalking her.
Hello you lovely readers of a creative day! I'm Laura from Beauty & the Beard; I'm so glad to be here today posting in Eileen's lovely series!
I'm big into DIYs, especially when it comes to the holidays. I feel like the older we get, the more and more people just buy the things they want on their own (since we're all adults with real jobs now)- so doing a fun DIY gift is a great way to give something that's totally original.
Today I made some of my favorite DIY gifts - paint ornaments! These things only require 2 things to makes them, and are so quick that you can easily make them for a last minute gift for that person on your list you forgot to buy something for :)
What you'll need:
- Hollow glass ornaments: Get them at Michael's with a 40% off coupon and they're about $3 for 6 of them!
- Assorted colors of acrylic paint
How to make it happen:
You really can't screw this up- just remove the ornament's silver top- pour about a teaspoon of paint in the bottom, and slowly turn the ornament around until you have a cool, swirled effect! Try with 1 color, or 2-3 for a more marbleized look.
Let dry, pop the tops back in, and you're good to go & gift!
These are a great DIY gift for Secret Santa- just figure out their favorite colors- or the team colors of a favorite sports team, and go to town!
Thanks so much for having me Eileen- can't wait to see the projects everyone else comes up with for the series!
