the #dwellhappy project

The blogging/ pinterest/ instagram world we live in now is filled with such a great community of inspiration and encouragement but the darker side of having everything at our fingertips is discontent/ envy/ comparison. Its so easy when I see a blogger who seems to have it all together to compare my blog/ life to hers. I know I'm not alone in this! Pinterest is so inspiring but also can promote the discontent/ my house will never look like that/ thoughts. I want my house to be 'done' but we are determined to do it as we can afford it, as exampled by our sofa story. Its easy to focus on the incomplete parts of my house and lose sight of the parts that make me happy.
So I'm creating the #dwellhappy project. Photographing a space in my house every day for a week that make me happy and posting it on instagram with the hashtag #dwellhappy. Focusing on the good is a reminder to be content and love what you have. I would love if you wanted to join in!

  1. Pure. Genius. I would love to join in.

  2. Love this idea! I'm totally with you on this. I just moved into my new place and all I think about is all of the things I need to get done, instead of focusing on all the beauty my new house has brought.

  3. I love this idea! I have a project on my blog today that needs that hashtag bc it makes me so happy!

  4. LOVE This! can't wait to see what you feature!

  5. Count me in. Thanx for this post so true.
